The Project
Firth is one of New Zealand’s best known and most trusted name in concrete.
Due to the challenging nature of concrete manufacturing, Firth could not afford to let their public facing reputation down with causing dirty roads caused by trucks leaving their manufacturing plants.
The Requirement
The Manukau site was faced with the issue of trucks exiting the site, dragging concrete dust and cement up the road, which not only was a disturbance to neighbouring properties but also posed an environmental and health risk to those in the area.
With the small footprint of the site, a standard wheel wash system wasn’t a feasible option, and wash down had to be done manually.
The Solution
Firth approached Condor to come with a solution to their challenging site requirements.
Condor reached out to key supplier Moby Dick who is the world leader in wheel wash systems. Together a bespoke system was designed featuring a flush drive on drive off system, in ground magnetic sensors at the entrance and exit, providing washing for outgoing trucks only, and a full in ground water recycling tank
